Mahatma Gandhi said “We have enough for everyone’s need, not for everyone’s greed. This quote has been bouncing around in my head for the past year or so and it is based on this that I am launching a new initiative under Kyra’s Book Bank, called The Exchange.
It’s simple really, here in the blog, we will start listing anything that people have in excess as well as what people/ NGOs/ schools need. We believe that some schools have too enough of one resource and others lack something else. So maybe if we start sharing that we do not need with those that need it, and asking for help for the things we do need, we will come to a balance from the least expected quarters.
So to all organisations, schools and centres, email me on kyrasbookbank@gmail.com and tell me what you need for your school or library or child care centre.
And people, start sharing with me lists of all that you have in excess – old uniforms, shoes, tables, chairs, fans, lights and of course BOOKS!
we will list them like classifieds on the site and hopefully people can connect and help each other out.
